Definition:

Disease-free survival (DFS), refers to the time from randomization to disease recurrence or death due to disease progression. It is also often used as the primary endpoint in phase III clinical trials of antitumor drugs. It is the most commonly used end point for adjuvant chemotherapy after radical surgery.
