Erythropoietin (Epo)

Definition:

Erythropoietin (Epo) , a glycoprotein, promotes the production of red blood cells (RBCs). Epo increses in the kidney under hypoxia condition, and circulates in the plasma and stimulates marrow progenitors, thereby increasing red cell production.
