Glycine receptors (GlyRs)

Definition:

Glycine receptors (GlyRs) are ligand-gated chloride ion channels that mediate fast inhibitory neurotransmission in the spinal cord and the brainstem. GlyRs are mainly involved in motor control and pain perception in the adult.
