Heparan sulfate proteoglycans (HSPG)

Definition:

Heparan sulfate proteoglycans (HSPGs) are glycoproteins containing one or more covalently attached Heparan sulfate (HS) chains. HSPGs can bind cytokines, chemokines, growth factors, and morphogens, protecting them against proteolysis.
