Definition:

Immunotherapyis a pillar of cancer therapy, is different from chemotherapy, which kills cancer via cytotoxic properties. Cancer immunotherapies, including checkpoint inhibitors and adoptive cell therapy, manipulate the immune system to recognize and attack cancer cells.
