La Crosse encephalitis

Definition:

La Crosse encephalitis is an infection of the central nervous system caused by La Crosse virus (LACV), a phlebovirus in the order Bunyavirales of -ssRNA viruses, and transmitted by Aedes mosquitoes. LACV belongs to the serogroup of California encephalitis virus, which was first isolated in 1943 in California.
