Low-density lipoprotein (LDL)

Definition:

Low-density lipoprotein (LDL) transports cholesterol in the bloodstream to the cell. LDL consists of several subclasses of particles with different sizes and densities, including large buoyant (lb) and intermediate and small dense (sd) LDLs. LDL is associated with cardiovascular diseases.
