Definition:

Luteinizing hormone (LH)is a sex stimulating hormone secreted by basophils in the anterior pituitary gland. It acts on the mature follicle, causing ovulation and the formation of the luteum. It also promotes the secretion of estrous hormone from the luteum, endocapsule and stromal cells.
