Mild encephalopathy with reversible myelin vacuolization (MMERV) is a familial disorder with clinical finding of mild encephalitis/encephalopathy with a reversible splenial lesion (MERS). Mutations in MYRF have been identified in patients. MYRF is a critical transcriptional regulator required for CNS myelination.
