NADP-dependent malic enzyme, mitochondrial

Definition:

Catalyzes the oxidative decarboxylation of (S)-malate to pyruvate using NADP(+) as a cofactor. Can also reverse the decarboxylation reaction, but only with significantly lower efficiency.
