Nicotinic acetylcholine receptor (nAChR)

Definition:

Nicotinic acetylcholine receptor (nAChR) is a member of the ligand-gated ion channel superfamily, which includes the 5-HT3, glycine and GABA type A and C receptors. nAChRs can be divided into two groups: muscle receptors and neuronal receptors.
