Oxidative phosphorylation (OXPHOS)

Definition:

Oxidative phosphorylation (OXPHOS) is the final biochemical pathway in the production of ATP. It occurs in the mitochondria. OXPHOS system consists of five multiprotein complexes encoded by mitochondrial or by the nuclear genome.
