Venezuelan hemorrhagic fever

Definition:

Venezuelan hemorrhagic fever is an infectious disease caused by Guanarito virus (GTOV), a New World arenavirus in the Arenaviridae family of -ssRNA viruses, and transmitted by rodents. GTOV was first isolated in 1989 in Venezuela.
