Phospholipase A2 (PLA2)

Definition:

Phospholipase A2 (PLA2) catalyzes the hydrolysis of the sn-2 position of membrane glycerophospholipids to liberate arachidonic acid (AA). PLA2 is a major component of snake venoms.
