Anamorelin (0.01 nM-10 μM; 15 min) Fumarate stimulates growth hormone release in a dose-dependent manner in rat pituitary cells, with an EC50 of 1.5 nM[1].

Anamorelin (3.5 mg/kg; oral administration; 1-7 days) Fumarate significantly elevates the levels of growth hormone and insulin-like growth factor-1 in pigs[1].
Anamorelin (3-30 mg/kg; oral administration; 28 days) Fumarate does not promote tumor growth in a nude mouse model of lung cancer xenografts, but increases the body weight of nude mice[2].

Result:Did not promote tumor growth in the murine NSCLC xenograft model.
Significantly increased the percentage of mean body weight gain at the end of treatment at doses of 10 and 30 mg/kg compared with controls.
Significantly increased peak plasma levels of murine growth hormone (mGH), while peak murine insulin-like growth factor-1 (mIGF-1) levels were slightly elevated but not statistically significant.
Were well tolerated.
