antibody-dependent cellular cytotoxicity (ADCC)

Definition

Antibody-dependent cell-mediated cytotoxicity (ADCC) refers to the direct killing of target cells by lethal cells such as Natural killer cells (NKs), which recognize the Fc segment of antibody coated on target antigen through Fc receptors (FcRs) expressed by NK cells.
