Mixed lineage leukemia protein-1 (MLL1) (also called MLL/KMT2A/HRX/HTRX/ALL1)

Definition

Mixed lineage leukemia protein-1 (MLL1), a histone methyltransferase and transcription factor, is critical for epigenetic maintenance of Hox gene expression, and is required for normal fetal and adult hematopoiesis. MLL1 is located at chromosome 11q23 which cause acute leukemia.
