Definition

Spike protien is a large structure known as a spike or peplomer projecting from the surface of an enveloped virus. Spike protien is the main component of SARS-coronavirus (SARS-CoV), plays key parts in the induction of neutralizing-antibody and T-cell responses, as well as protective immunity, during infection with SARS-CoV.
