Coagulation factor IX/F9 Protein, Human (461a.a, HEK293, His)

Cat. No.: HY-P73509
Handling Instructions

Coagulation factor IX is a vitamin K-dependent plasma protein that participates in the intrinsic pathway of blood coagulation by converting Coagulation factor IX into its active form in the presence of Ca2+, phospholipids, and factor VIIIa. Coagulation factor IX/F9 Protein, Human (461a.a, HEK293, His) is the recombinant human-derived Coagulation factor IX/F9 protein, expressed by HEK293 , with C-His labeled tag. The total length of Coagulation factor IX/F9 Protein, Human (461a.a, HEK293, His) is 461 a.a., with molecular weight of 60-80 kDa.

Background

Coagulation factor IX is a vitamin K-dependent protein, and its deficiency can lead to hemophilia B[1].
Coagulation factor IX is the zymogen of plasma protease factor XIa (fXIa). In the presence of Ca2+, phospholipids, and factor VIIIa, coagulation factor IX is proteolytically converted to factor IXaβ (fIXaβ), which promotes the production of thrombin during coagulation. Coagulation factor IX contributes to thrombosis, while playing a relatively minor role in hemostasis[2][3].

Help & FAQs
  • Do most proteins show cross-species activity?

Species cross-reactivity must be investigated individually for each product. Many human cytokines will produce a nice response in mouse cell lines, and many mouse proteins will show activity on human cells. Other proteins may have a lower specific activity when used in the opposite species.

  • Specific Activity Calculator

The reconstitution calculator equation

Volume (to add to vial) = Mass (in vial) ÷ Desired Reconstitution Concentration

Volume (to add to vial) = Mass (in vial) ÷ Desired Reconstitution Concentration
= ÷

The dilution calculator equation

Concentration (start) × Volume (start) = Concentration (final) × Volume (final)

This equation is commonly abbreviated as: C1V1 = C2V2

Concentration (start) × Volume (start) = Concentration (final) × Volume (final)
× = ×
C1   V1   C2   V2

The specific activity calculator equation

Specific Activity (Unit/mg) = 106 ÷ Biological Activity (ED50)

Specific Activity (Unit/mg) = 106 ÷ Biological Activity (ED50)
Unit/mg = 106 ÷ ng/mL
