Tetradecane (n-Tetradecane) is a low-temperature phase change material with a phase change temperature of 5°C and a latent heat of phase change of 220 J/g. Tetradecane undergoes solid-liquid phase transition around 5°C, and achieves temperature regulation by absorbing or releasing latent heat[1].

In Vitro

Tetradecane maintains good thermal stability after 100 thermal cycles, and can serve as the core substrate for temperature control of snow and ice melting on asphalt pavements[1].
