In Vitro

5α-Hydroxy-laxogenin (20 mg; 2 h) can be chemically converted to 5α-hydroxyspirostan-3,6-dione via oxidation with Dess-Martin periodinane in anhydrous dichloromethane, producing a pure product with confirmed structural identity[1].
