The ANGPTL7/Angiopoietin-related 7 protein assumes a crucial role in the formation and organization of the extracellular matrix. Particularly in the eye, it acts as a mediator of dexamethasone-induced matrix deposition within the trabecular meshwork, a tissue essential for the outflow of ocular aqueous humor and the maintenance of intraocular pressure.
