1.Measure by its ability to induce proliferation in FDC-P1 cells. The ED₅₀ for this effect is <50 pg/mL. The specific activity of recombinant mouse GM-CSF is approximately >2×10⁷ IU/mg.
2.Measured in a cell proliferation assay using THP-1 human erythroleukemic cells. The ED₅₀ for this effect is 43.27 pg/mL, corresponding to a specific activity is 2.311×10⁷ units/mg.
