Description
Carbonic Anhydrase 14 Protein, Mouse (His) is an approximately 40.0 kDa mouse carbonic anhydrase 14 protein with a His-flag. Carbonic Anhydrase 14 is a type I membrane enzyme highly expressed in all parts of the central nervous system[1].
Background
Carbonic AnHYdrase XIV is a type I membrane enzyme highly expressed in all parts of the central nervous system. And it exhibits lower expression in adult liver, heart, kidney, urinary bladder, and skeletal muscle[1].The carbonic anhydrasekl (CA) family consists of at least 11 enzymatically active members and a few inactive homologous proteins[2].The carbonic anhydrases are indentified as metalloenzyme for its zinc ion prosthetic group, it can catalyze the rapid interconversion of carbon dioxide and water to bicarbonate and protons. They also take part in maintaining acid-base balance in blood and other tissues[2].
