CD99L2 Protein is crucial in aiding leukocytes during a late stage of extravasation by facilitating the overcoming of the endothelial basement membrane barrier. Independently acting at the same site as PECAM1, CD99L2 serves as a homophilic adhesion molecule, even though its interactions may not be essential for cell aggregation.
