IL-1 plays a key role in the pathogenesis of polymyositis and dermatomyositis. IL1RAPL2 is associated with non-syndromic X-linked mental retardation. IL1RAPL2 is specifically expressed in the nervous system and is a candidate gene for central nervous system diseases^[1][2][3][4].
