LRG1 is involved in promoting neovascularization (new blood vessel growth) by causing the switching of transforming growth factor β (TGF-β) signaling in endothelial cells. LRG1 binds to the co-receptor endorphins and promotes signaling through the ALK1-Smad1/5/8 pathway. LRG1 is involved in ovarian cancer progression by activating the FAK/AKT signaling pathway[1][2][3].
