N-(3-Oxodecanoyl)-L-homoserine lactone serves as the sole carbon and nitrogen source for Rhodococcus erythropolis W2 and can be completely degraded. N-(3-Oxodecanoyl)-L-homoserine lactone can be used in studies related to bacterial infections .
