Handling Instructions Technical Support

2,3-Dipalmitoyl-sn-glycero-1-phosphocholine, 95% (D-DPPC, 95%) is a chiral phospholipid that serves as a membrane-forming lipid component for bicelle assembly. 2,3-Dipalmitoyl-sn-glycero-1-phosphocholine, 95% can form bicelle assemblies with DHPC, which induce an induced circular dichroism (ICD) signal in the chiral probe DPH, with a polarity opposite to that induced by chiral L-DPPC/DHPC bicelles.

Description

2,3-Dipalmitoyl-sn-glycero-1-phosphocholine, 95% (D-DPPC, 95%) is a chiral phospholipid that serves as a membrane-forming lipid component for bicelle assembly. 2,3-Dipalmitoyl-sn-glycero-1-phosphocholine, 95% can form bicelle assemblies with DHPC, which induce an induced circular dichroism (ICD) signal in the chiral probe DPH, with a polarity opposite to that induced by chiral L-DPPC/DHPC bicelles[1].

In Vitro

When assembled into bicelles with DHPC, 2,3-Dipalmitoyl-sn-glycero-1-phosphocholine, 95% induces a negative Cotton effect in DPH at 10 °C, which is a mirror image of the positive signal induced by L-DPPC and DHPC bicelles, reflecting the chiral orientation of DPH in the ordered bicelle bilayer structure[1].

Help & FAQs
  • Do most proteins show cross-species activity?

Species cross-reactivity must be investigated individually for each product. Many human cytokines will produce a nice response in mouse cell lines, and many mouse proteins will show activity on human cells. Other proteins may have a lower specific activity when used in the opposite species.
