Description

Porcine Serum Albumin (globulin free) is a serum albumin protein containing a flexible C-terminal region. Porcine Serum Albumin (globulin free) induces the production of anti-PSA IgG antibodies in rats and triggers severe immune responses upon secondary administration[1].

In Vivo

Porcine Serum Albumin (200 mg/kg; intravenous injection; Day 0 and Day 28) induces significant anti-PSA IgG antibodies in healthy rats within 56 days and elicits a robust secondary immune response after the second administration[1].

MedChemExpress (MCE) has not independently confirmed the accuracy of these methods. They are for reference only.

Animal Model: Wistar rats (male, 179 g)[1]
Dosage: 200 mg/kg
Administration: i.v.; on day 0 and day 28
Result: Increased anti-PSA IgG antibody levels from 7 days after the first administration.
Caused a sharp rise in anti-PSA IgG antibody levels after the second administration.
Reached an absorbance at 490 nm (indicating anti-PSA IgG) of approximately 0.15 at day 56.

Help & FAQs
  • Do most proteins show cross-species activity?

Species cross-reactivity must be investigated individually for each product. Many human cytokines will produce a nice response in mouse cell lines, and many mouse proteins will show activity on human cells. Other proteins may have a lower specific activity when used in the opposite species.
