Cadherin-17 protein mediates cell-cell interactions, sorting and organizing heterogeneous cell types by preferentially binding to other Cadherin-17 molecules. LI-cadherin, a subtype of Cadherin-17, is implicated in liver and intestinal morphological organization. Cadherin-17 also facilitates intestinal peptide transport, emphasizing its functional significance. Cadherin-17 protein, a calcium-dependent cell adhesion molecule, is involved in mediating cell-cell interactions.
