DNA polymerase beta Protein, Human (His)

DNA polymerase beta Protein, Human (His), a DNA repair enzyme, is involved in various types of DNA repair. DNA polymerase beta Protein performs base excision repair (BER) required for DNA maintenance, replication, recombination, and drug resistance.

DNA polymerase beta (POLB) belongs to the DNA polymerase type-X family. The structure of DNA polymerase beta has been resolved and shows two domains, an 8-kDa domain consisting of several helices and a 31-kDa domain consisting of several subdomains, the fingers, the thumb, and the palm respectively. It is typically described as a DNA repair enzyme, involved in various types of DNA repair such as Base Excision Repair (BER), Nucleotide Excision Repair (NER), post-replicative Mismatch Repair (MMR), and Double Strand Break Repair (DSBR)^[1].
