IL-36R is a heterodimer that consists of a receptor subunit named IL-1Rrp2 (IL-1RL2) and a co-receptor subunit Interleukin-1 receptor accessory protein, IL-1RAcP. The receptor can recognize three different agonists, IL-36α, IL-36β, and IL-36γ (also known as IL-1F6, IL-1F8, and IL-1F9), to induce the expression of inflammatory cytokines. IL-1 Rrp2/IL-1 R6 Protein, Cynomolgus (HEK293, His) is the recombinant cynomolgus-derived IL-1 Rrp2/IL-1 R6 protein, expressed by HEK293 , with C-His labeled tag. The total length of IL-1 Rrp2/IL-1 R6 Protein, Cynomolgus (HEK293, His) is 316 a.a., with molecular weight of 60-70 kDa.

Background

IL-1Rrp2 binds IL-1F9 as a ligand and that this binding leads to the activation of transcription factor NF-kB. There are eleven IL-1 family members and nine IL-1 receptor family members. The novel IL-1 cytokines, IL-1F6, IL-1F8 and IL-1F9 (recently renamed IL-36α, IL-36β and IL-36γ respectively) have been shown to signal via IL-1 receptor related protein 2 (IL-1Rrp2, recently renamed IL-36R). IL-1Rrp2 expression was regulated in response to both classical (IL-1β) and novel IL-1 cytokines (IL-1F8 and IL-1F9). The IL-1Rrp2 protein encoded by both of Rat and human cDNAs is 561 amino acids long and to exhibit 42% and 26% overall identity with the IL-1 type 1 and type 2 receptors, respectively. Agents which block signalling through IL-1Rrp2 could be useful therapeutic tools for psoriatic conditions[1].
