VCAM-1/CD106 Protein, Mouse (HEK293, Fc)

Cat. No.: HY-P72432
COA Handling Instructions

VCAM-1/CD106 Protein, a cell adhesion molecule, is expressed on endothelial cells and plays a key role in leukocyte recruitment during inflammation. It interacts with integrins on leukocytes, facilitating their adhesion and migration across the blood vessel walls. VCAM-1/CD106 Protein is implicated in various inflammatory diseases and may serve as a potential therapeutic target for intervention. VCAM-1/CD106 Protein, Mouse (HEK293, Fc) is the recombinant mouse-derived VCAM-1/CD106 protein, expressed by HEK293 , with C-hFc labeled tag. The total length of VCAM-1/CD106 Protein, Mouse (HEK293, Fc) is 674 a.a., with molecular weight of 100-130 kDa.

Background

VCAM-1/CD106 protein is a cell adhesion glycoprotein primarily found on endothelial cells, and it plays a critical role in immune surveillance and inflammation. It serves as a key regulator of leukocyte adhesion to the endothelium by interacting with various integrins. During inflammatory responses, it binds to ligands on activated endothelial cells, subsequently initiating the activation of calcium channels and the plasma membrane-associated small GTPase RAC1, which in turn facilitates leukocyte transendothelial migration. Additionally, VCAM-1/CD106 protein acts as a quality-control checkpoint for entry into the bone marrow, providing a 'don't-eat-me' signal in the context of major histocompatibility complex (MHC) class-I presentation. Furthermore, in the case of microbial infection, it interacts with ECMV-D capsid proteins and functions as a receptor for this virus.

Help & FAQs
  • Do most proteins show cross-species activity?

Species cross-reactivity must be investigated individually for each product. Many human cytokines will produce a nice response in mouse cell lines, and many mouse proteins will show activity on human cells. Other proteins may have a lower specific activity when used in the opposite species.

  • Reconstitution Calculator

  • Dilution Calculator

  • Specific Activity Calculator

The reconstitution calculator equation

Volume (to add to vial) = Mass (in vial) ÷ Desired Reconstitution Concentration

Volume (to add to vial) = Mass (in vial) ÷ Desired Reconstitution Concentration
= ÷

The dilution calculator equation

Concentration (start) × Volume (start) = Concentration (final) × Volume (final)

This equation is commonly abbreviated as: C1V1 = C2V2

Concentration (start) × Volume (start) = Concentration (final) × Volume (final)
× = ×
C1   V1   C2   V2

The specific activity calculator equation

Specific Activity (Unit/mg) = 106 ÷ Biological Activity (ED50)

Specific Activity (Unit/mg) = 106 ÷ Biological Activity (ED50)
Unit/mg = 106 ÷ ng/mL
