6PPD is a rubber antioxidant that scavenges ozone and forms nitro radicals. Exposure to 6PPD reduces the hatching rate, impairs spontaneous locomotor activity, shortens body length and causes malformations in zebrafish embryos. 6PPD also induces oxidative stress in zebrafish embryos[1].

体内実験

6PPD (0.0022-5 mg/L; aqueous exposure; daily renewal; 96-120 hours) causes concentration-dependent developmental toxicity, GH/IGF and HPT axis disruption, and oxidative stress in Danio rerio embryos/larvae, with a 96 h LC50 of 2.2 mg/L and significant developmental impairment and endocrine disruption observed at doses as low as 0.0022 mg/L[1].

Reduced autonomous movement (60-second count at 96 hours) by 19.9% (0.022 mg/L) and 56.25% (0.22 mg/L) relative to controls.
