Description

Clusin is a lignan that can be found in Hernandia nymphaeifolia. Clusin inhibits growth of the Gram-negative pathogen Neisseria gonorrhoeae. Clusin is inactive against murine lymphocytic leukemia cells and human cancer cells[1].

In Vitro

Clusin (compound 12) (48 h) does not inhibit growth of the murine P388 lymphocytic leukemia cell line or other cancer cell lines[1].
Clusin (compound 12) (32-64 μg/mL) inhibits growth of Neisseria gonorrhoeae ATCC 49226 with a minimum inhibitory concentration of 32-64 μg/mL[1].
