In Vitro

Poly(acrylic acid) exhibits good biocompatibility and adsorption properties. Poly(acrylic acid) can be used as medical glues and tissue engineering scaffolds in biomedical field, coatings and adhesives materials in industrial applications, or packaging materials in material science[1].
Poly(acrylic acid) (MW 2000) forms polymer-surfactant aggregates with pentaethylene glycol n-octyl ether (C8E5) via hydrogen bonding between C8E5 ethanol groups and PAA carboxylic acid groups. Poly(acrylic acid) (MW 2000) forms weaker interaction, more complex aggregate structure with C8E5 ethanol ether, in comparision of Poly(acrylic acid) with high molecular weight[2].
