Carboxypeptidase A1/CPA1 Protein, Human (HEK293, His) is an approximately 44.0 kDa human carboxypeptidase A1 protein with a His-Flag.

Carboxypeptidase A1 is encoded by the CPA1 gene cleaves the C-terminal amide or ester bond of peptides that have a free C-terminal carboxyl group. Carboxypeptidase A1 (CPA1) is synthesized as an inactive precursor, proCPA1, which is processed to the active enzyme by the proteolytic removal of the 95-amino acid N-terminal prodomain. Carboxypeptidase A1 prefers the C-terminal residues with aromatic or branched aliphatic side chains including Phe, Tyr, Trp, Leu or Ile^[1].
