C10/CCL6 shares significant homology with other chemokines, including human MIP-1γ, CC chemokine F-18 (CCF-18), hemofiltrate CC chemokine (HCC-1), and HCC-2[1]. CCL6 is present in a variety of chronic inflammatory disorders including experimental demyelinating diseases, allergic airway inflammation, bleomycin-induced lung fibrosis and chronic peritonitis. CCL6 also can be used as a monocyte chemoattractant in a murine acute peritonitis[2].
