CD276/B7-H3 Protein may regulate T-cell-mediated immune responses, acting as a protective factor in tumor cells by inhibiting natural-killer-mediated cell lysis. It also serves as a neuroblastoma cell marker and plays a role in acute and chronic transplant rejection, regulating lymphocytic activity at mucosal surfaces. Crucially, CD276/B7-H3 may provide an immunologically suitable environment for the placenta and fetus during pregnancy. Both isoforms modulate CD4 T-cell responses, with isoform 2 enhancing cytotoxic T-cells and selectively stimulating interferon-gamma production.
