CL-P1/COLEC12 Protein, Rhesus Macaque (sf9, His)

Cat. No.: HY-P77341
Handling Instructions

Collectin-12 is a family of Ca2+-dependent, C-type lectins that contain a collagenous domain and function as recognition molecules for molecular patterns found on pathogens (1 - 4). CL-P1/COLEC12 Protein, Rhesus Macaque (sf9, His) is the recombinant Rhesus Macaque-derived CL-P1/COLEC12 protein, expressed by Sf9 insect cells , with N-His labeled tag. The total length of CL-P1/COLEC12 Protein, Rhesus Macaque (sf9, His) is 642 a.a., with molecular weight of ~72.3 KDa.

Background

Collectin-12 plays important roles not only in innate immune protection against certain clinically important pathogens but also in scavenging of host molecules, leukocyte recruitment, and cancer metastasis. Collectin-12 has been shown to be associated with the pathogenesis of human diseases such as Alzheimer's disease and multiple sclerosis lesion development. Collectin-12 reveals a differential binding capacity towards selected fungal pathogens in vitro[1][2][3].

Help & FAQs
  • Do most proteins show cross-species activity?

Species cross-reactivity must be investigated individually for each product. Many human cytokines will produce a nice response in mouse cell lines, and many mouse proteins will show activity on human cells. Other proteins may have a lower specific activity when used in the opposite species.

  • Dilution Calculator

  • Specific Activity Calculator

The reconstitution calculator equation

Volume (to add to vial) = Mass (in vial) ÷ Desired Reconstitution Concentration

Volume (to add to vial) = Mass (in vial) ÷ Desired Reconstitution Concentration
= ÷

The dilution calculator equation

Concentration (start) × Volume (start) = Concentration (final) × Volume (final)

This equation is commonly abbreviated as: C1V1 = C2V2

Concentration (start) × Volume (start) = Concentration (final) × Volume (final)
× = ×
C1   V1   C2   V2

The specific activity calculator equation

Specific Activity (Unit/mg) = 106 ÷ Biological Activity (ED50)

Specific Activity (Unit/mg) = 106 ÷ Biological Activity (ED50)
Unit/mg = 106 ÷ ng/mL
