In neutrophils, it activates SYK kinase, crucial for IL-15-induced phagocytosis in a SYK-dependent manner. Different isoforms may introduce variations in signal transduction. Notably, IL-15R alpha Protein, while having high affinity, does not directly bind to IL15. It's important to note that the expression of different isoforms may introduce variations or interference with signal transduction processes. Despite its high affinity for interleukin-15, it is specified that IL-15R alpha Protein does not directly bind to IL15.
