Thrombomodulin Protein, Rat (HEK293, His)

Thrombomodulin is an endothelial cell receptor that forms a 1:1 complex with thrombin and is essential for the conversion of protein C to activated protein Ca. Protein Ca then cleaves coagulation cofactors, reducing thrombin production. Thrombomodulin Protein, Rat (HEK293, His) is the recombinant rat-derived Thrombomodulin protein, expressed by HEK293 , with C-His labeled tag.

Thrombomodulin Protein functions as a specific endothelial cell receptor, engaging in a 1:1 stoichiometric complex with thrombin. This complex plays a pivotal role in converting protein C to its activated form, protein Ca, which, in turn, cleaves the activated cofactors of the coagulation mechanism—factor Va and factor VIIIa—resulting in a reduction in the overall production of thrombin.
