Acyl Carrier Protein (ACP) (65-74) is a key coenzyme fragment of fatty acid synthase (FAS) and participates in fatty acid synthesis as an acyl carrier. Acyl Carrier Protein (ACP) (65-74) mediates condensation, reduction and other cyclic reactions in fatty acid synthesis by covalently binding to acyl chains to form acyl-ACP intermediates, promoting acyl chain extension. Acyl Carrier Protein (ACP) (65-74) can regulate the synthesis ratio of saturated and unsaturated fatty acids. Acyl Carrier Protein (ACP) (65-74) can be used to study the mechanism of bacterial fatty acid synthesis and is a potential target for antibiotics (such as inhibiting the FAS system of pathogens).

Acyl Carrier Protein (ACP) (65-74) mediates condensation, reduction and other cyclic reactions in fatty acid synthesis by covalently binding to acyl chains to form acyl-ACP intermediates, promoting acyl chain extension. Acyl Carrier Protein (ACP) (65-74) can be used to study the mechanism of bacterial fatty acid synthesis and is a potential target for antibiotics (such as inhibiting the FAS system of pathogens)[1][2][3].

In Vitro

1. Enzyme activity assay:
Acyl Carrier Protein (ACP) (65-74) (10 μM; 30 min) significantly enhances the catalytic efficiency of β-ketoacyl-ACP reductase (FabG) in in vitro enzymatic reactions, increasing the rate of NADPH-dependent reduction reactions by 3 times[1].
2. Protein interaction assay:
Acyl Carrier Protein (ACP) (65-74) (5 μM; 2 h) specifically binds to β-ketoacyl-ACP synthase III (FabH) in surface plasmon resonance (SPR) experiments with a dissociation constant K of 2.3 μM. The two may interact through a conserved acidic helical region[2].

Help & FAQs
  • Do most proteins show cross-species activity?

Species cross-reactivity must be investigated individually for each product. Many human cytokines will produce a nice response in mouse cell lines, and many mouse proteins will show activity on human cells. Other proteins may have a lower specific activity when used in the opposite species.
