Phosphate-Buffered Saline (PBS) is a balanced salt solution used for a variety of cell culture applications, such as washing cells, diluting cells and preparing reagents. The 500 mL is defined as the base specification. All larger sizes correspond to incremental volumes of this base.

Phosphate-Buffered Saline (PBS) is a balanced salt solution used for a variety of cell culture applications, such as washing cells, diluting cells and preparing reagents.

MCE PBS Buffer (1×) has been filtered and is ready to use for general purposes in cell culture. The reagent is free of Mg²⁺, Ca²⁺and phenol red, pH is 7.2-7.4.

Do most proteins show cross-species activity?
Species cross-reactivity must be investigated individually for each product. Many human cytokines will produce a nice response in mouse cell lines, and many mouse proteins will show activity on human cells. Other proteins may have a lower specific activity when used in the opposite species.
