Cytarabine hydrochloride, a nucleoside analog, causes S phase cell cycle arrest and inhibits DNA polymerase. Cytarabine inhibits DNA synthesis with an IC50 of 16 nM. Cytarabine hydrochloride has antiviral effects against HSV.

MV4-11, MOLM-13, THP-1, and U937 cells were treated with or without various concentrations of FKA (2.5, 5, 10, and 20 μg/mL) for 24 and 48 h, and cell viability was detected by the MTS assay. Treatment with Cytarabine (HY-13605; 7.3 μg/mL) was used as a positive control.
