Ponceau Staining Solution (Ready-to-use, 1×) 

Ponceau S carries a negative charge and can bind to positively charged amino acid residues, as well as interact with the non-polar regions of proteins, forming red bands.

MCE Ponceau S staining solution (ready-to-use, 1×) is a ready-to-use membrane staining solution that can be used for protein detection on PVDF membranes, nitrocellulose membranes, and cellulose acetate membranes.

Ponceau S staining is reversible and can be washed off with distilled water, PBS, or other suitable solutions.

Room temperature, 1 year

1. Wash the membrane in ultrapure water 2 - 3 times for 1 min each time with gentle agitation to remove all transfer buffer.

2. Immerse the membrane in Ponceau Staining Solution, and then incubate with gentle agitation for 3 - 10 min.

3. Carefully wash the membrane in ultrapure water, PBS, other appropriate solutions 2 - 3 times for 3 - 5 min each time with gentle agitation to remove all ponceau staining solution.

1. Ponceau staining solution is not suitable for protein detection on nylon membranes.
