T7 Endonuclease I recognizes and cleaves incompletely paired DNA, cruciform structure DNA, Holliday structure or crossover DNA, heterologous double-stranded DNA, or cuts nicked double-stranded DNA at a slower rate. This enzyme cleaves the first, second, or third phosphodiester bond at the 5' end of the mismatched base.
