Description

Monascin is a kind of azaphilonoid pigments extracted from Monascus pilosus-fermented rice (red-mold rice). Monascin (0.0025% in drinking water; mice) appears effective for the inhibition of UVB-initiated carcinogenesis on mouse skin[1].
