IL-13 Protein, Mouse (CHO, His)

IL-13 Protein, Mouse (CHO, His), an important CHO cell derived cytokine, is a multifunctional cytokine whose principal action is to diminish inflammatory responses.

Interleukin (IL)-13 plays a pivotal role in the pathogenesis of allergic asthma. Passive administration of its monoclonal antibody or soluble receptor to block overproduced IL-13 has been proven to be effective in controlling airway allergic responses in animal models, but these approaches have disadvantages of short half-lives, high costs, and possible adverse effects. IL-13 induces the gene expression of Ca²⁺-activating chloride channel, stimulates the differentiation of epithelial cells, and promotes mucin gene expression and release. IL-13 plays a key role in the pathogenesis of asthma^[1].

The ED₅₀ is <20 ng/mL as measured by human TF-1 cells.

It is not recommended to reconstitute to a concentration less than 100 μg/mL in ddH₂O. For long term storage it is recommended to add a carrier protein (0.1% BSA, 5% HSA, 10% FBS or 5% Trehalose).

Stored at -20°C for 2 years from date of receipt. After reconstitution, it is stable at 4°C for 1 week or -20°C for longer (with carrier protein). It is recommended to freeze aliquots at -20°C or -80°C for extended storage.
